Welcome to Pre-K Moves!

As I teach pre-k, I try to think like an occupational therapist and speech therapist. After taking numerous courses, reading books and research articles, listening to podcasts, and seeing it in action with hundreds of students, I rely on the Central Nervous System Pyramid of Learning and the Kinetic Scale to guide my planning. This means that I am taking the whole child into consideration when I plan for our pre-k days. Our days will be filled with movement and language rich multi-sensory experiences that help children to fully develop all of their sensory systems, integrate their reflexes, work from both sides of their brain, handle new and challenging social situations and prime their brains for all of the academic learning in the years to come. I’m thrilled to do this work with my students and share the fun with all of you!
